What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as your preferences or whether you are logged in — making your experience more efficient and consistent across pages.
This policy explains what cookies BOBSTA uses on bobsta.co.uk and on the BOBSTA Seminar Booking platform, why we use them, and how you can control them.
The cookies we use
We use only the cookies necessary to operate the website and booking platform. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics that share your data with external services.
| Cookie name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
.AspNetCore.Session |
Maintains your session while you are logged in to the booking platform or admin panel. Without this cookie, you would be logged out on every page. | Session (deleted when browser closes) | |
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.* |
Protects forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. Set automatically on any page containing a form. | Session | |
BasketId |
Identifies your basket during the course booking checkout. Allows the platform to hold your seat reservation while you complete payment. | 30 minutes (or until checkout completes) | |
sb_cookie_consent |
Records that you have acknowledged the cookie consent banner on the customer-facing booking site. Prevents the banner from reappearing on subsequent visits. | 12 months |
Essential cookies
Essential cookies are required for the website and booking platform to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core features such as login, checkout, and form security. Under UK PECR legislation, essential cookies do not require your consent before being set.
Functional cookies
Functional cookies improve your experience but are not strictly necessary. The sb_cookie_consent cookie is the only functional cookie we set. It exists purely to remember that you have already acknowledged the cookie notice, so we do not show it to you again on your next visit.
What we do not use
BOBSTA does not use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) that track your behaviour across other websites
- Fingerprinting or device identification techniques
Third-party cookies
When you make a payment through BOBSTA, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Stripe may set its own cookies in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy. BOBSTA does not control or have access to any cookies set by Stripe on their domain.
If you choose to pay using Klarna, similar conditions apply under Klarna's Privacy Policy.
How to manage cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. The links below take you to the relevant guide for each major browser:
Please be aware that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in, completing a booking, or using forms on the BOBSTA platform.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
